Facing Winter's challenge to keep your skin glowing and hydrated

Category: Beauty

Winter is back and with it the challenge to keep your skin hydrated and glowing. The combination of fluctuating temperature, dry and cold air, and wind create challenges for keeping skin looking healthy and glowing during the winter.

Each season, skin care specialists and well known manufacturers introduce new and potentially better skin care products to fight the damaging forces of cold weather and protect the face from the free radicals, pollution, and the sun's rays. The change in temperature from cold to hot and vice versa, as well as pollution and stress are the biggest enemies of the skin, as they destroy its elasticity, firmness and vitality, and add extra wrinkles.

Like most people, I face the same problem with managing my skin in winter. It is difficult and requires consistency and discipline with daily skin care. Every winter I begin with a visit to my dermatologist Dr. Michele Green. I met her two years ago, and since then I put her in charge of my skin. To me the signature of health and wellness is the look of our skin, but winter can make our skin looking dull and tired.

For the first time in years, I am very happy with the appearance of my skin. I need something to tighten my pores and remove the years of sun damage on my skin.

I started with chemical peel 5% and gradually moved to 20% strength. The procedure takes minutes, but the results are amazing...brighter, tighter and younger looking skin in just a few treatments. I love the results and I come back every few months for the peel to keep my skin looking fresh and younger.

I also started to use skincare line designed by Dr. Green. Her products are pure and offers results not promises. Each product complements the other. Dr. Green is all about protecting the skin from environmental damages, and she prescribed my skin care based on my skin type, lifestyle and needs.

My skin tends to be dry and can experience occasional acne caused by stress and hormonal unbalance. This is my skin care regime designed by Dr. Green. All of these products you use in minimal amounts - pea size amount.

1. Gentle Facial wash - twice a day.
2. High Potency Vita-C- Serum - whenever you need some detoxification
3. Morning Skin Renewal Serums
4. Line Repair Eye Cream - excellent for lips.
5. Intense Anti-aging Serum - night time only.
6. Absolute Recover Cream (only for winter) - very rich and provides great moisture.
7. Moisturizing Lotion (only for summer)
8. Ultra Sheer Facial Sunscreen SPF 25 Oil Free.
9. Acne Spot Treatment - trust me this one works!!! Apply at night and your skin will look clear in hours.

I also recommend you to eat balanced meals, including plenty of fruit that contains natural vitamins and minerals - kiwi especially, drink plenty of water and stay extra active!
